Benefit Advocates (On-Site)

The on-site Benefit Advocates are located in many of the Division of Family Resources Offices throughout the state. They are responsible for providing members and potential members with face-to-face education about the Hoosier Healthwise Program and how to access services. The Benefit Advocates also assist members and potential members with selecting a Primary Medical Provider (PMP), including giving them unbiased information about the different delivery networks within Hoosier Healthwise. Another function of the Benefit Advocates is to provide targeted intervention and education to members and potential members as necessary, including assisting them with problem resolution when needed. The on-site Benefit Advocates serve as a resource person for members, potential members, Division of Family Resources Staff, Hoosier Healthwise providers, and other community or social service agencies.

Benefit Advocates (Off-Site)

The off-site Benefit Advocates provide the same function as the on-site Benefit Advocates, only their communication with members and potential members is accomplished through telephone outreach and the Hoosier Healthwise Helpline. Their main purpose is to educate and assist those members and potential members who do not have an on-site Benefit Advocate available to them in their county.  Hoosier Healthwise Off-Site Benefit Advocates are available to assist members, potential members, and providers Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
