The EPSDT Program called HealthWatch is a preventive health care program to improve the overall health of children.  EPSDT stands for Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and  Treatment. It is a service which is available to every Hoosier Healthwise eligible child under age 21.  EPSDT  has two parts: screening  (or well-child check-ups) and treatment.

EPSDT/Well Child Care includes the following:

  • Developmental Assessment

  • Physical examination

  • Vision  test

  • Hearing  test

  • Anemia test

  • Blood pressure

  • Immunizations

  • Health education

  • Lead Screening

  • Urinalysis


 

Even children who are well should have EPSDT check-ups.  At minimum, a check-up must be done at:
 

  •  1 month

  •  2 months

  •  4 months

  •  6 months

  •  9 months

 

  • 12 months

  • 15 months

  • 18 months

  •  2 years
  •  3 years

 

  • 4-5 years
  •  6-8 years
  •  9-12 years
  • 13-16 years
  • 17-20 years
